Athens, Greece
Considered the cradle of western civilization and the home to many biblical sites, Greece is changing. In Athens, 10% of the population is made up of immigrants and refugees from the Middle East and 90% of immigrants in Europe have entered through Athens. The constitution of Greece recognizes the Greek Orthodox faith as the prevailing religion of the country, while guaranteeing religious freedom. Over 97% of Greek citizens identify themselves as Greek Orthodox. There are roughly 42,000 Protestants in the whole country. Athens is home to the only evangelical seminary in the country. Currently, there is very little being done to help immigrant pastors find the training they are looking for.
