Freetown, Sierra Leone
Freetown is the capital city of Sierra Leone and a strategic hub for quality hermeneutical and theological training. In this majority Muslim country there are few opportunities for theological education, and the false prosperity gospel has taken firm root in most churches. Our partner in Freetown has gathered an eager group of trainees, from a variety of educational backgrounds, who are eagerly learning and implementing the TLI training in their churches. We want them to equip the saints in their churches to read and understand the Bible for themselves and defend themselves from errors of Islam and prosperity preaching. We train about 35 current and future church leaders. An added bonus for trainers - all training is in English, the de-facto official language of Sierra Leone

CURRICULUM
Course 2 - Knowing the Bible's Story
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course 2 explores the general flow of Christ-centered redemptive history from Genesis to Revelation. Major themes that appear throughout—each including aspects of continuity and discontinuity—are God’s kingdom, covenants, people, kingship, priesthood, prophetic ministry, and mission. Each theme is embedded within Scripture’s testimony to the fundamental storyline of God’s plan to reconcile the world to himself under Christ’s kingship for his glory. The point of the whole course is to equip the trainees to answer the hermeneutical Question 2: How does it fit in the Bible? The issue of the Bible’s whole story is hermeneutically potent and foundational to handling individual texts and passages rightly.
